We're not that smart ... but wait

No, I did not post this to show a picture of Halle Berry

Ugandan men warned of 'booby trap' after chloroform attacks

Victims of the attacks have been discovered by police officers naked with all their possessions having been stolen by the gang, who use the women to lure their prey and rob them when they fall unconscious after intimate activity.
the modus operandi
"They apply this chemical to their chest. We have found victims in an unconscious state."
So a lusty woman lures a unsuspecting man into a private location for a little something something. She then "embraces" his face into her chloroform scented bosom. Then he wakes up buck naked and penniless.
Brilliant.
Right now, there are scores of single women to adapt to our new economy to be used in clandestine operations in all bars.clubs throughout our country. Next there chaos in the streets as butterfly collectors find their weapon of choice is being used by an army of thieving Jezebels.
In retaliation, they purchase nerve gas from fringe Syrian agents with mysterious Iraqi markings on the canisters, do really think no WMDs went there? The misuse of the lethal gas kills scores in Central Park which leads to a hold on all science projects in high schools due to ban of purchase of any coma inducing chemicals to be used on frogs.
Years later, an investigation will find out it was the actor Henry Thomas who played the little boy in E.T. behind this catastrophe. He was scarred from the infamous intoxicated frog dissection scene. He created this fiendish plot after his World War I death scene in a Legends of the Fall. The WWI use of mustard gas inspired him as he was found to have a tragic addiction to Reece's Pieces which corroded his brain. When cornered by Federal Agents, his last words were, "Frogs are our brothers and sisters." He then licked a hallucinogenic frog and attempted to jump the fed's cars only to smash head first into the hood of an Impala.

some quality leaders ya got there!

"My staff tells me not to say this, but I'm going to say it anyway," said Reid in his remarks. "In the summer because of the heat and high humidity, you could literally smell the tourists coming into the Capitol. It may be descriptive but it's true."

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid
not only a rude jack ass to a sitting President, but one who obviously has little respect for the stinky tourists/voters/people you are to answer to you incompetent moron!

more of the same

As the last bastion against all things status quo in the Beltway, El-Presidente Electo Obama, fights the power and the establishment. As he brings his audacity of hope, change and to fight things that go bump in the night, he shows his true self.
1st - VP Biden, the lifer who redefines blowhard
2nd - Sec of State, Queen Hillary, never heard of her, from Hitch
Both President and Sen. Clinton, while in office, made it obvious to foreign powers that they and their relatives were wide open to suggestions from lobbyists and middlemen.

Just to give the most salient examples from the Clinton fundraising scandals of the late 1990s: The House Committee on Government Reform and Oversight published a list of witnesses called before it who had either "fled or pled"—in other words, who had left the country to avoid testifying or invoked the Fifth Amendment to avoid self-incrimination. Some Democratic members of the committee said that this was unfair to, say, the Buddhist nuns who raised the unlawful California temple dough for then-Vice President Al Gore, but however fair you want to be, the number of those who found it highly inconvenient to testify fluctuates between 94 and 120. If you recall the names John Huang, James Riady, Johnny Chung, Charlie Trie, and others, you will remember the pattern of acquired amnesia syndrome and stubborn reluctance to testify, followed by sudden willingness on the part of the Democratic National Committee to return quite large sums of money from foreign sources.

3rd - AG Holder, nothing to see here, from Cohen
Soon after Bill Clinton pardoned Marc Rich, the former president and I had a brief telephone conversation. I had been downright heated about the pardon, a lot angrier than I had ever been about Monica Lewinsky. Clinton implied that I had things historically backward. Long after the Rich pardon had been forgotten, he said, the Lewinsky scandal would remain a vivid memory. That day is yet to come. The Rich pardon is back.

The vehicle for this lingering echo from the year 2001 is the choice of Eric Holder as Barack Obama's attorney general. Holder was Clinton's deputy attorney general and he played a significant role in the pardon. When asked by the White House what he thought about a pardon for Rich, Holder replied, "Neutral, leaning towards favorable." These four words have stalked him ever since.

gobble, gobble, hike

everyone has their own game. Mostly it's called Turkey Bowl. I've played with family in Batavia in my younger days and now with old drinking buddies in town.
Every year we arrive at nine a.m. with jerseys that seem to shrink more and more. I still wear an old Bears jersey with Zorich on the back. We pound a few beers, have a couple shots, then game on. In fact, the ball marker goes from a couple cans of Old Style or Bud Light, to a cooler and case.
We went from tackle to two hand touch due to progressing age of the players. But it still hurts. Last year I heard three distinct pops in my shoulder after missing a dump pass in the flat as I hit the dirt. But I was able to put up Christmas lights the next day scaling an old ladder 25 feet in the air. Dislocated a shoulder, pulled ligaments in my knee, bloody lip and nose, but the beer stays cold and we are men. Silly men in suburbia.
In the end, we go back to our families to reunite another year. And no beer cans are left behind. All that is left is the echo of men screeching like soroity girls in chapter and roughed up sod.

Have a safe and happy thanksgiving. I can imagine we have had our various challenges and rewards this year, just remember it's about family.
And remember the Pilgrims were aiming for Virginia and found Massachusetts instead. If men asked for directions, who knows what would've happened.

Part 2
Survived the game.
  • It became a tackle fest with only one person going to the hospital. A little sore, but I remember how much I enjoy some good old fashioned physical contact.
  • I was mercilessly taunted by a little 9 year old. He was the ballsiest little bugger in some time.
  • Obob is a North South runner.
  • Obob could not tackle and left his jock in several locales.
  • Finally, Old Style is man beer. No contest.

How are both alike?

Give up?

Both are one night stands.

The Code Pink moonbats represent all the liberal grassrooters whom obama/pelosi used to get elected.
And the lady feebly hiding herself had a cosmo induced encounter the previous eve.
Either way, someone got used and should have known better.

obob scared

Nothing scares the unholy crap outta me like the use of children in horror movies. The little undead rugrat in Pet Cemetery, yup I ran. Those spooky little girls in the Shining, I had to watch Home Alone to come down.
But this frightens me. Not in a "obama may win" way." But in a cultish manner in which there is "mass suicide when failure in imminent" way. Isn't Child Protective Services supposed to protect children from this sort of manipulation?

I am going to go hug my children. At least mine will be allowed to think for themselves and not be shamelessly sold out to a communist trained (Miller) terrorist befriended (Ayers) white sox fan.

Empathy R' Us

at 1:08 in, listen

Michael Moore jiggles one of his many chins in celebrating the oncoming Gustov at the people's expense in New Orleans. Pathetic.
Then you have former National Chairman of the Democratic National Committee Don Fowler and Congressman John Spratt of South Carolina laughing at the Crescent City's expense. In order to be a Democrat, must you celebrate in the suffering of your fellow Americans so you may score political points? Something tells me this does not speak for the vast majority of Democrats or liberals. But their leaders, icons and intelligentsia think so.

by the way, I did not pull a Biden. Malkin did a similar piece.

Life Goes On

my new favorite word, thanks Eddy
At the Dave show Friday night, I was conversing with one my best friends. He and I have been roommates, been in each others weddings, committed a couple felonies ... you get the picture. We have been known to throw down beers watching election results like it was the Super Bowl.
I digress. As were talking, a friend of one of the couples we came with came upon us. I gave the usual friendly greeting and he asked how I was.
I replied, "Doing well thank you."
His reply, "You said well, are you an English major or pretentious?"
Being my sarcastic self, I said I was both.
I guess my crime is an education. Not that I apply it as I should. This got me to thinking. You have read my posts and comments. They tend to be erratic, obtuse, but entertaining. Mostly capital crimes against literacy, grammar and my family name.
Time to step up. Let's have some fun.

Classy!

I never claim to be a saint, nor the great satan.

One of my odd summer rituals is watching that incorrigible rascal Regis and Kelly. I know, but we all have our oddities.

Meryl Streep is on talking about Mama Mia this morning. They praise her, she gives her haughty laugh and basks in the accolades. As I watch her, she has that disconnect from you and I one would prejudice with "those Hollywood types."

As they talk about her adoration of Bette Davis, Streep praises her for her character roles. It's her last line of the interview that dares my ire, she says she loves how she was not afraid to play a "bitch."

Did I tell you I watch this with my three children sometimes?

Did I?

Maybe she should have been looking in the mirror when she said that.

Another mindless post

Expect erratic random inane posts over the summer. Coherence is soooo overrated.

This in and a shocking development. Communism is a crappy economic system.

CARDENAS, Cuba -- Loraicys is 27 years old, has never worked, and refuses to
take just any job. She is not alone.

As Raúl Castro embarks on an
ambitious plan to kick-start the communist nation's economy, he faces daunting
challenges: Many Cubans simply do not work.

Decades of measly salaries
and vast government subsidies have kept many young people off the labor rolls
because it's more lucrative to hustle on the street. Others live comfortably
enough off remittances from Miami and elsewhere.

See! The slacker culture my generation refined during the 90s has finally dealt a harsh blow to Cuba! If McDonald's, the Pope and the late great Dutch tore down the Iron Curtain with capitalism and human dignity, we can do it in by sending flannel shirts and Starbucks. It looks like they have mastered the "living off their parents" thing down.
Now, if they could find a way to get their hands on royalties off of the juvenile and asinine Che icon marketing items, then the money would really roll in.

Obob Returns Once Again

Well, the summer is here and I'm back. The last month has been batshit.
The short story, I left my job of 7+ years at a phenomenal school. A mix of choice and consequence. No hard feelings and quite an amicable split to be honest. The humbling part was the impact I made on the children, staff and parents. But enough of that. On to free agency.

Back to reality. I watching the DNC Rules Committee argue and bicker over the clusterfart they created with Michigan and Florida. I take this back, this can't be real.

Wexler from the 19th District is a posturing little turd. You get what elect there kids. He's arguing about how unfair 2000 was, apparently he missed Scalia telling him to get over it. He fails to realize his peeps created the mess with the ballots the fabricated. But I digress. And GW gets blamed plus Jeb. Quality people you got there assheads.

To say I'm thrilled with the behavior of the GOP at times, this is ridiculous. How can the GOP lose to an immature catty group? It's like watching a group of schoolgirls debate valid poetical thought of N'Sync versus the Backstreet Boys.

Not done with this ...

Sen. Carl Levin of Michigan wore the appropriate attire for this Committee meeting of the DNC.

Word just broke they went half vote. So instead of 3/5ths, y'all in those two states are half the value due to the gross incompetence and vain arrogance. But according to Levin, it's all about the "sequence."

And this group of yahoos is protesting their own party not GW. I love it when a plan comes together.

Get in while I can

It's Pogo badge day, thus my wife will have the computer. Must get maximum blogging in.

The usual astute Austin Bay sums up al-Sadr's latest attempt at manhood. If al-Sadr were any less manly, you'd think think that brillo pad on his chin was glued on.

In southern Iraq and east Baghdad, Sadr once again lost street face. Despite the predictable media umbrage, this translates into political deterioration.

Ted Turner has bit so hard into the global warming cowpie, he thinks we will be reduced to cannibalism.
Not doing it will be catastrophic. We'll be eight degrees hottest in ten, not ten but 30 or 40 years and basically none of the crops will grow. Most of the people will have died and the rest of us will be cannibals.

And finally, that tramp we know and love as our NBA commish is trying to get his swerve on. The mostest honestest news source on the web, the Onion, has this breaking story of lust and corruption in the cage. If David Stern were to take cues from his more moral name sharer, Howard, this would not have happened.
Sources close to the NBA commissioner say David Stern may yet succumb to the powerfully intoxicating sexual advances of Miami head coach Pat Riley and, in so doing, be convinced to allow the 12-57 Heat to enter the playoffs.

He should have taken his cues from this man of integrity ...

Maybe it's the Old Swedish blood

Psychedelic Drugs and Star Trek Mix Perfectly A Jefferson Airplane and Star Trek mash-up? Suddenly both entities make complete sense.

speaking of drugs, they wonder how someone like Heath Ledger could be taking a dirt nap. This is how you "prep" for the big night. You do all the botox and spas for Oscar night and the red carpet.

If all else fails, medicate. No matter how good you look, the pressure can be overwhelming. Many stars arrive on the red carpet armed with a pharmacy of prescription drugs stuffed in pockets and evening bags to ease anxiety.

Says one celebrity physician: "The Oscars seem to bring out great anxiety in people. They know they're going to be in the limelight and the fact that so many people will be watching them makes them more nervous."

The drugs Inderal or Atenolol are popular as they "slow down your heart so, when you're up there on stage, you don't get palpitations and become sweaty."

Other anti-anxiety drugs such as Xanax and Ativan "help people who stutter or get a panic attack. They will take one pill or half a pill before walking down the red carpet so their legs don't get shaky."

Funny Fake

Brooke has a funny post with a fake ID and it reminded me of a favorite carding at the bar.

The bar where I have worked off and on since Bush 41 is a neighborhood type. And I have spoken quite fondly of my peeps in the past. A lot of the regulars and customers come from the hood behind the bar and the local Catholic church. In fact the priest that married my wife and I was a regular (Bourbon & Diet with beef nachos) Even though my wife isn't Catholic and I insisted on a Catholic wedding, she figured if she can have drink with the guy, he can marry us.

But I digress ...

One night I was behind the bar and a cute young lady walks up to get a drink, I ask for ID. She hands me one from California. A habit of mine is to ask for another form of ID when you have an out of state. She starts to pull out another one when I see a Rhode Island ID in her wallet. Rather confused, I then see one from Indiana which is here real one. Then I see her last name and I know her family from church. In fact, an older sister had just gotten a drink from me.
I asked if she was bi coastal with the Cali and RI IDs. She left.

Three months later when she was really 21 I bought her a drink. Heck, she's a Cubs fan and had a sense of humor about the carding.

The lesson of the story: I don't care how cute you may be, if you are underage I don't care. I'm old, ugly, and married to the owner's daughter.

Dude

As much as I am a major proponent of a playoff system in college football, the bowls are fun. The Holiday Bowl last night was not different. I didn't really care to see who won, I like to watch more for the old Roman Colosseum visual appeal. The Romans would make match-ups for violent curiosity. A bear would fight a lion, a tiger would fight an elephant and so on. The gladiator would be matched up by weapon and fighting style. One guy would have a gladius and armor, the other a trident and net. Thus the Hawaii v. Georgia is a great example.

But I get way off target. This kid just about grabbed the ball in a fumble by ASU on the field of play. Fortunately for him, UT won.
Unfortunately for the kid, he is a red headed stepchild. We know the saying.

Warning

the one below was my pledge night in 1988

obob will become sentimental, foolish and darn well idiotic the next couple days. On Saturday, my fraternity will be celebrating the last homecoming at the Green Mansion. As mentioned before, we were the poor house. We had the lowest dues, we were ugly, we drank with no manners, we were brothers. We still are. I love these guys.

Can you find the magic obob in this picture?

This picture on the right is circa 1992 for all betting purposes
The answer:
I'm the bottom left in the first picture with the "that drunk fraternity brother who wears the tacky fishing hat" on my once hair-covered dome. Thus, the second to right on the picture below toasting the frightened camerman. Dead sexy in tux with all modesty.

WASHINGTON — Rep. Dennis Kucinich, Democratic presidential candidate and no stranger to contrarian views, was the sole congressman Tuesday to vote against the House's Sept. 11 commemoration resolution.

I could put his insipid response, but why bother.
