more of the same

As the last bastion against all things status quo in the Beltway, El-Presidente Electo Obama, fights the power and the establishment. As he brings his audacity of hope, change and to fight things that go bump in the night, he shows his true self.
1st - VP Biden, the lifer who redefines blowhard
2nd - Sec of State, Queen Hillary, never heard of her, from Hitch
Both President and Sen. Clinton, while in office, made it obvious to foreign powers that they and their relatives were wide open to suggestions from lobbyists and middlemen.

Just to give the most salient examples from the Clinton fundraising scandals of the late 1990s: The House Committee on Government Reform and Oversight published a list of witnesses called before it who had either "fled or pled"—in other words, who had left the country to avoid testifying or invoked the Fifth Amendment to avoid self-incrimination. Some Democratic members of the committee said that this was unfair to, say, the Buddhist nuns who raised the unlawful California temple dough for then-Vice President Al Gore, but however fair you want to be, the number of those who found it highly inconvenient to testify fluctuates between 94 and 120. If you recall the names John Huang, James Riady, Johnny Chung, Charlie Trie, and others, you will remember the pattern of acquired amnesia syndrome and stubborn reluctance to testify, followed by sudden willingness on the part of the Democratic National Committee to return quite large sums of money from foreign sources.

3rd - AG Holder, nothing to see here, from Cohen
Soon after Bill Clinton pardoned Marc Rich, the former president and I had a brief telephone conversation. I had been downright heated about the pardon, a lot angrier than I had ever been about Monica Lewinsky. Clinton implied that I had things historically backward. Long after the Rich pardon had been forgotten, he said, the Lewinsky scandal would remain a vivid memory. That day is yet to come. The Rich pardon is back.

The vehicle for this lingering echo from the year 2001 is the choice of Eric Holder as Barack Obama's attorney general. Holder was Clinton's deputy attorney general and he played a significant role in the pardon. When asked by the White House what he thought about a pardon for Rich, Holder replied, "Neutral, leaning towards favorable." These four words have stalked him ever since.

4th UN Ambassador Rice, not the read deal known as Condi. She was a "protege" of Albright, more Clinton. And we know how effective Albright was. From my original blog,

Let's Go Over This Again

As I have stated before, certain words should never have any sequence in flying out of your mouth:
John McCain: I knew John Keating
Dennis Kucinich: anything about aliens
Joe Biden: anything
Sarah Palin: let's talk about foreign policy
Barack Obama: spread the wealth

There is a reoccurring theme here bambinos,
Redistribution of Wealth
or
Redistribution of Wealth through legislation
Give him the House, give him the Senate and maybe the Supreme Court and then give him your paycheck
hat tip drudge

another thought is going through my massive cranium, is he meaning reparations? After doing some genealogy, my family didn't start getting here until after the 1880s. Sorry, I'm out. And what about the illegals, do they have to pay reparations as well?

Since we're on "obama is communist/socialist/white sox fan" topic:

it's a very catchy little ditty.

The Vast Wasteland

Outside of the usual sports, (Bears/Football, Cubs & National Soccer action) my TV runs either children shows or the History Channel. Most major network shows are predictable, insipid or in an arrogant sense, numbing.
But there are four shows I eagerly await every week:

  • Burn Notice on USA: Any chance to see Bruce Campbell hamming it up is worth it. And if you want to catch a real odd film, Bubbal Ho-tep. He is Elvis in hiding and Ossie Davis as JFK. Yes, Ossie is black.

  • Law & Order: Criminal Intent on USA: I was wary of this show at first. But the unbridled eccentric genius of Vincent D'Onofrio is worth every episode. Even the return of Chris Noth to the franchise is worth it. But most of all, I love Leslie Hendrix. She has played the savvy ME Dr. Elizabeth Rodgers for all three franchise shows.

  • Eureka on SciFi: This brings out my inner geek. My meager grey matter is generally history or philosophically driven. But the sci-fi angle, perfectly cast and playful physics laden banter makes me giggle like Archimedes. (Who is given his props with a statue in the middle of the town. Plus there is Jo played by Erica Cerra.

  • Penn & Teller Bullshit on Showtime: And these two. They are bombastic and silent. Atheist and Libertarian. And they make you think. Unafraid to challenge any group, from Code Pink to the Catholic Church to NASA. The profane duo are at their best unchained and self-rightous.

Each show has wit, intelligence, truly character driven and unique. It isn't that other shows reek of mediocrity, but my time is limited. I could never commit to the brilliant Lost like a good marriage. And the original Law & Order is like a drunken booty call at 2 a.m. you never let go.

    silly boy

This may or may not be Alicia Sacramone, but this is still funny. She may throw like a girl, but that hurt. I have been hit enough to know when you get jacked up. And it come to a shock, I deserved many of those haymakers. Of course the US team is claiming the Chinese cheated with age violations. I think it was the pacifier, but Karolyi claims
"One of the girls has a missing tooth," Karolyi said, suggesting that the gymnast was so young that she lost a baby tooth and had yet to have a permanent one emerge.

    Last of the fun posts

One more "fun" post until I start the spring offensive:
I caught one of the greatest "guy" movies of all time tonight, The Magnificent Seven.
Based on the Japanese classic, The Seven Samurai by Akira Kurosawa, it personifies manlimanness. The is so testosterone rich, Chuck Norris couldn't play one of the village girls.
    Yul Brenner
    Steve McQueen
    Charles Frickin' Bronson
    James Coburn
    Robert Vaughn
    &
a Jewish Eli Wallach playing the villain

    Quotes:
Vin: We deal in lead friend.

[O'Reilly is teaching the villagers how to shoot]
O'Reilly: Miguel, didn't I tell you to squeeze? Hm? Just like when you're milking a goat, Miguel.
Miguel: It's that I get excited!
O'Reilly: Well don't get excited! Now this time squeeze. Slowly, but squeeze. All right now, squeeze. [Miguel shoots]
O'Reilly: *Squeeze*! I'll tell you what. Don't shoot the gun. Take the gun like this, and you use it like a club, all right?

Village Boy 2: We're ashamed to live here. Our fathers are cowards.
O'Reilly: Don't you ever say that again about your fathers, because they are not cowards. You think I am brave because I carry a gun; well, your fathers are much braver because they carry responsibility, for you, your brothers, your sisters, and your mothers. And this responsibility is like a big rock that weighs a ton. It bends and it twists them until finally it buries them under the ground. And there's nobody says they have to do this. They do it because they love you, and because they want to. I have never had this kind of courage. Running a farm, working like a mule every day with no guarantee anything will ever come of it. This is bravery. That's why I never even started anything like that... that's why I never will.

Chris: Morning. I'm a friend of Harry Luck's. He tells me you're broke.
O'Reilly: [chopping wood] Nah. I'm doing this because I'm an eccentric millionaire.

    Another smattering of things

The all time action one liners here are not the most intellectual nor thought provoking as I'd like write. But with three children and hearty "Hi ho Silver," this is all I can muster.

Obob is Outsourcing For Humour Today

This commercial is damn well funny. Of course this comes the land of John Candy, Bob & Doug McKenzie and Peter Jennings.

I hope the wanker below doesn't let Clark Griswold take his girlfriend for a road trip in the family truckster wearing that leash.

Motorcycle Cop: Poor little guy. Must have kept up with you for a mile or so. Tough little mutt.

Goth who walks fiancée on a leash is banned by bus driver who told him: 'No dogs allowed'

Given that she describes herself as a human pet – and is happy to walk around on a lead – Tasha Maltby is used to odd looks and even odder remarks.
But nothing had prepared her for the reaction of the bus driver who allegedly told the self-styled Goth and her boyfriend: "We don't let freaks and dogs like you on."
Miss Maltby and her fiance Dani Graves were so angered they have complained to the bus company of being "victimised".
"It is definitely discrimination, almost like a hate crime," 19-year-old Miss Maltby said yesterday.
The music technology student had this defence of her lifestyle.
"I am a pet, I generally act animal like and I lead a really easy life," she said.
"I don't cook or clean and I don't go anywhere without Dani. It might seem strange but it makes us both happy. It's my culture and my choice. It isn't hurting anyone."
The bus driver, however, has obviously not been listening.
He has repeatedly refused to allow Mr Graves, 25, and his "pet" on to his bus in Dewsbury, West Yorkshire.
Last month, with Miss Maltby on a leash as usual, the couple tried to board a bus at the bus station.
The driver, who was off duty, was standing near the door.
Mr Graves alleged: "He shoved me off the bus. He called us freaks and he called Tasha a dog.
"He said, 'We don't let freaks and dogs like you on'.
"He basically grabbed my T-shirt and slammed me backwards.
"I got a bit angry and called him a fascist pig."
In a separate incident, police were called when the driver, who has not been named, refused to allow other passengers on board after the couple ignored his orders and sat down.
The couple, who live on benefits in a council house and plan to start a family, have been friends for years.
They started going out together in July and became engaged in November.
Paul Adcock, of bus company Arriva Yorkshire, said: "We take any allegations of discrimination seriously.
"Mr Graves has already contacted us directly and as soon as our investigation has concluded we will inform him of the outcome."

    Ahhhhhhhhhhhh

I got this from Mancow's website.
Get a weed-whacker for that back.

If you surived that picture, this is a wicked funny parody of the old news reels and our beloved democratic process.
I do hope the good people at Shall we talk? are not offended by the slight towards the French. To be honest, this is a great blog to have intelligent conversation with bloggers from the other side of the Pond.

    A Couple Quickies

One of my favorite liberal writers came out swinging at the feminist movement led by the cowardly Gloria Steinem. My anger is not with the concept of independent strong willed women, I married one. My ire is the abandonment of Monica after being another conquest of Clinton and their free pass of him.
Lady Paglia, unleash the dogs of war:

Hillary's disdain for masculinity fits right into the classic feminazi package, which is why Hillary acts on Gloria Steinem like catnip. Steinem's fawning, gaseous New York Times op-ed about her pal Hillary this week speaks volumes about the snobby clubbiness and reactionary sentimentality of the fossilized feminist establishment, which has blessedly fallen off the cultural map in the 21st century. History will judge Steinem and company very severely for their ethically obtuse indifference to the stream of working-class women and female subordinates whom Bill Clinton sexually harassed and abused, enabled by look-the-other-way and trash-the-victims Hillary.

Speaking of a most excellant strong-willed and intelligent woman, Brooke reminded me of this episode of Penn & Teller's Bullshit on PETA. They filet the movement with wit and facts and serve it up with some home fries. The video really isn't a quickie, but worth it.

    Quickies

I saw this a couple weeks ago and it beautifully mocks Ahmajindad and it mocks his country's "religion of peace" version of homosexual relations:

And the Bears beat the communist/socialist/so evil Hillary goes to them for campaign advice packers.
Did I mention the packer nation is godless? Not in an atheist or agnostic way. But in a pagan worshipping manner that would sacrifice their child like Agamemnon did to get a gust of wind for a winning field goal.

    Terror Strikes Parade

In an explosive Obob's World exclusive, Union troops maliciously opened fire on innocent cheerleaders in a parade. The number of casualties is not known. Unconfirmed reports mentioned these are the same barbarians that wiped out a mime heavy metal act.

Miller Drops the Hammer on Reid

    hat tip to Neo-Con* tastic
I always thought Reid was a loser. Anyone who describes the President in that manner and is a representative of the people, is a textbook case. Not to mention he is a propaganda gold mine for our enemies.

It was 1.1 million, but still ...
WASHINGTON (AP) - Senate Democratic Leader Harry Reid collected a $1.1 million windfall on a Las Vegas land sale even though he hadn't personally owned the property for three years, property deeds show.
In the process, Reid did not disclose to Congress an earlier sale in which he transferred his land to a company created by a friend and took a financial stake in that company, according to records and interviews.

    Peyton Manning on SNL

SNL is as dead as Belushi. Remorsefully, I am pretty much done with it and admit defeat is believing the liberal writers would get a sense of humour. Alas, they open with a weak skit with ulta-lightweight cast member every week and bash GW, very poorly at that. Makes me want to get out of education knowing there has to be a job in NYC if writers are this feeble-minded.
I digress, although I am still bitter about the Colts winning, I was happy to Peyton resurrect SNL with one last faint heartbeat of hope. The opening monologue is especially funny when I recall my mom knocking me out cold trying to tackle her playing smear the queer, get over your PCself if I offend.

The United Way spoof is cliche and predictable, but Peyton sells it perfectly.

Several years ago I had he pleasure of meeting the guy at my in-laws bar. A week before he had barraged by fans wanting autographs and he kept his cool. It may have meant nothing to him, but I had to thank his for putting up with my wonderful patrons. He's a good kid who, may Allah permit, make to Canton one day. If Eli doesn't first.

    23 March, 2007

    Which is more heinous?

I can't decide which is more irritating:
the immature and childish remarks of Sen. Boxer or,
the cheerleader remark from the male Democrat Propaganda Officer from CNN in the end.
Had this been Inhofe making these remarks to Boxer, he would have been chastised by either of the DPOs oon duty.
More cartoons to make fun of Al Gore.

I saw this comment at The Liberal Lie, The Conservative Truth and it touched my heart in a very special way. As much as I am for free speech, I have to edit this in case a child of yours or mine should read this:

    bringing back a classic

I read a post at Robert's blog about the media trashing Ann Coulter and not bringing up Bill Maher's wish of a dead VP. If I were gay, not that my boyfriend says I am, I would be pissed beyond recognition if I were put in a group with John Edwards.
Back to my point, here is a funny clip showing Christopher Hitchens flipping off Bill Maher's trained audience. The creator off the clip has some fun with the comparison of Bush and what the heck the Iranian presidente's name is.

    SNL is dead

    I need more cowbell!

Watching Saturday Night Live anymore, is like watching an old friend die a slow death of self-indulgence and habitual heroin use. Odds are they aren't going to get off the horse and are to proud to admit their imminent destruction. Lorne Michaels is either to rich to care or surrendered to the piss poor writing and talent in house. There a few funny skits, but the digital shorts from Samberg have worn out. I keep watching hoping for some sign of life or hope, like you believe that old friend will come clean. Alas, SNL is good as dead.
Here is an all-time favorite, some days living in the past is the only life left:

Here is the best crap in years, the Natalie Portman rap.

    Kissinger Doing the Weather
Back in the early 90s, I awoke with a wicked hang over one morning. As I sat on the floor watching the morning news, I swore I saw Harold Kissinger doing the weather. No one believed me. Professors discounted me. I have been vindicated.
