It's Gonna Get Ugly Like Obob in the Morning Sun

First segment: As Israel prepares a self defensive land insertion into Gaza, Alan Dershowitz writes an opine providing moral and legal evidence for Israeli actions. His conclusion is solid:
Until the world recognises that Hamas is committing three war crimes - targeting Israeli civilians, using Palestinian civilians as human shields, and seeking the destruction of a member-state of the UN - and that Israel is acting in self-defence and out of military necessity, the conflict will continue.

Is it the subtle anti-Semitic beliefs held by many countries or a fear of standing up to tyranny? What else must Israel do to appease those who desire her ultimate demise? These questions must be answered by the UN Security Council. They must grow a pair and allow Israel to finish the job. We would demand the same unequivocally.
Next segment: A great piece describing the frustrations of millions of humanitarians in the NY Post. It sums up the feelings of many Americans and Israelis:

In fact, the president-elect may not know himself. He's a babe in the woods, and the woods are full of wolves. Fighting political rivals doesn't prepare you for fighting terrorist fanatics.

...

As for our president-elect, his all-too-coy insistence that "we have only one president at a time" has been selective from the start. Glad to pontificate on stimulus packages and union benefits, Obama has used the one-president mantra to avoid taking stands on difficult issues that bedevil or bewilder him.

Our president-elect needed to make a clear, prompt statement in support of Israel. He didn't. If I were an Israeli leader, I'd be worried, too.

Obama's notorious for avoiding firm stands that might alienate any important constituency. But you can't have it both ways in the Middle East. He needs to stand up in support of Israel. Now.

And finally, when the cowardly, treacherous and hideous beast that is ex-rep. mckinney was on a boat, she met the Israeli Navy. The Israeli craft justifiably rammed the boat carrying the dirty cohort of evil to prevent it from providing comfort to those who wish to recreate the Holocaust morals be damned.
Wouldn't you have loved for her to lay a hand on one of these lovelies who may not have shown the restraint that handcuffed a Capitol Police Officer?

so much for the brave journalist

Imagine if a German reporter from an Argentinian radio station threw an object at Truman in Berlin in Post WW II Germany? Well kiddos, it looks like we would have had a strong similarity with the joker who chucked his loafer at GW.

New revelations in Iraq point to a possible link between the shoe thrower and the Iraqi Baathists who just made a botched attempt to topple the government of Nouri al-Maliki and return Saddam’s party to power.

Reports in the Arab media indicate that the Iraqi shoe thrower, Muntather al-Zaidi may have been planning his assault on President Bush for more than a year, helped by Iraqi Baathists seeking to overthrow the U.S,-backed government. One leading Arab website said the al-Zaidi’s handlers may have been funded by Raghad, the eldest daughter of former dictator Saddam Hussein.

At little more info on the tosser, and I mean that in a British sense as well:

Al-Zeidi is a correspondent for al-Baghdadia, a pro-Baathist television station based in Cairo, Egypt, that some suspect is funded by Raghad.

So, to all the people that cheered this mouth piece for the moral equivalent of the Nazis or any old CCCP Pravda, nice job. Way to support democracy, freedom, and all things fun in the world.

I found this at The Daily Beast. Another interesting news site in an alternative non MSM vein.

Activists: 9 Iranians Convicted of Adultery Set to Be Stoned to Death
TEHRAN, Iran — Eight women and one man convicted of adultery are set to be stoned to death in Iran, activists said Sunday.
here are some of the key notes
  • Six of the nine were convicted based solely on judges' decisions with no witnesses or the presence of their lawyers during their confessions, she said.
  • Most of the nine come from areas of Iran that have low rates of literacy and some did not understand the cases against them, she said.
  • The punishment is also applied in some other countries such as Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Sudan and Nigeria.

  • A man is usually buried up to his waist, while a woman is buried up to her neck. Those carrying out the verdict then throw stones until the condemned dies.
  • In the recent years, reformist legislators demanded an end to death by stoning as a punishment for adultery, but opposition from hard-line clerics sidelined their efforts.

  • I am a supporter of capital punishment. But the public execution of anyone on charges of adultery are criminal. Yet, where are the American feminists? Where are they when women are oppressed by these Muslim clerics and the law of the Quran they impose to suppress women's rights? As usual, the silence is deafening. They would rather have the president of an Ivy League University tared and feathered for asking intellectual questions, then defend women who are forced in a subservient life.
Where are the American feminists in regards to the "Honor Killings" that are starting to infest our borders? Silent again
Pathetic and weak is the feminist movement in our country as they try to look tough with Code Pink and enjoying the freedom to attack our Marines in Berkley or Condi Rice in the halls of the Capitol with "blood" soaked hands.
    Basically, grow a pair.
And as for the people who think we should negotiate with Ahmjahad straight up, do you really think he is in charge? He is a mere and temporary puppet of the clerics and mullahs who run Iran.
Finally, how many of us would have been buried up to our necks or waists?
I know and love to many intelligent and strong willed women who would have been executed.

    found one tough guy

A tense moment before the coiled snake known as the People's Liberation Army gets ready to pounce on a threatening child. Beware, he's got a binky!

A couple of posts ago I asked Who's The Tough Guy? It showed a picture of a courageous Chinese soldier getting ready to go Hammerin' Hank Aaron on a Tibetan monk. Once again this shows the Chinese military has the raw courage of a child molester. Those threatening students at Tienanmen Square were so heavily armed with ideas! Or the comrades in Southern China getting removed from their villages by the goon squad!
Here's a couple real tough guys from our Navy SEALs and the Royal Marnies:

A Royal Marine who threw himself onto an exploding grenade to save the lives of his patrol has been put forward for the UK's highest military honour.

Then there are the fallen heroes. Petty Officer 2nd Class Michael A. Monsoor goes into that catagory. He will be awarded the Medal of Honor posthumously.

That September morning, Monsoor and a group of SEAL snipers took up position on a residential rooftop as part of an operation to push into a dangerous section of southern Ramadi. Four insurgents armed with AK-47 rifles came into view, and the SEAL snipers opened fire, killing one and wounding another. Loudspeakers from a mosque broadcast calls for insurgents to rally, and residents blocked off nearby roads with rocks.

Insurgents shot back at the SEAL position with automatic weapons from a moving vehicle and fired a rocket-propelled grenade at the building. The SEALs knew that more attacks were inevitable but continued their mission of protecting the troops clearing the area below, according to an official account.

Monsoor's commander repositioned him in a small hidden location between two SEAL snipers on an outcropping of the roof, facing the most likely route of another insurgent attack. As Monsoor manned his gun, an insurgent lobbed up a hand grenade, which hit Monsoor in the chest and bounced onto the roof.

"Grenade!" Monsoor shouted. But the two snipers and another SEAL on the roof had no time to escape, as Monsoor was closest to the only exit. Monsoor dropped onto the grenade, smothering it with his body. It detonated, and Monsoor died about 30 minutes later from his wounds.

This article came from the Wash Post, the AP gave the heroic story three paragraphs that must have pained them to publish, and the Indy Star posted the story compliments of the LA Times.
Not exactly the playful post I would have liked today.

    Have You No Shame?

"Let us not assassinate this lad further, senator. You have done enough. Have you no sense of decency, sir, at long last? Have you left no sense of decency?"

I gleaned this quote from an article yesterday by Peter D. Feaver in the Boston Globe entitled MoveOn's McCarthy moment.
The article draws a strong comaprison with the immature antics of MoveOn and the near terminally ill NYT this week. (Read Thomas Lifson The Decline and Fall of the New York Times) The full page ad insults our commmader in Iraq with no merit.
Let us be clear. It is legitimate to grill Petraeus on his testimony and to ask him tough questions about the strategy he has been pursuing. It is legitimate to disagree with him, or to conclude that an alternative course of action has a better chance of advancing US interests in the region. Healthy civil-military relations do not depend on accepting uncritically anything a senior military officer says. Quite the opposite, they depend on a full and frank exchange of views.

It is not legitimate, however, and it is exceedingly corrosive of healthy civil-military relations to question the general's patriotism when his views differ from yours and are inconvenient for one's political agenda.

This is a defining moment for the antiwar faction. They can continue on the path on to which they have veered, repeating some of the worst mistakes in American history. Or they can make a clean break with the past, police their own ranks, and promote a healthy, critical, public debate about the best way forward in Iraq.

You hear many members of the left and Democratic claim to support the troops. Then they must purge their ranks. But they won't. Like the jello spined leaders of Europe who condemn Israel and pray they bomb Iran or Syria back to the stone ages, they would never soil there own hands.
I do have to apologize for comparing Israel and MoveOn. The heroic people of Israel understand people want them dead, while MoveOn has already fallen to folly of ignoring history with its repetitive karma. Six years since 9/11, we are fighting the enemy responsible for that day (not the US by the way and I refuse to expound on that) in Iraq. They do not understand Clinton's early exit of Somalia, his failure to effectivly avenge teh U.S.S. Cole or the other attacks led to 9/11. The esteemed Gen. Petraeus deserves an aplogy from the NYT.

The Grey Lady Confounds the Mighty Obob

I read this piece from Real Clear Politics.com and I found it rather uplifting considering the source. The two think tankers went back to Iraq and wrote a "positive piece." This is actually printed in the NYT!

VIEWED from Iraq, where we just spent eight days meeting with American and Iraqi military and civilian personnel, the political debate in Washington is surreal. The Bush administration has over four years lost essentially all credibility. Yet now the administration’s critics, in part as a result, seem unaware of the significant changes taking place.

Here is the most important thing Americans need to understand: We are finally getting somewhere in Iraq, at least in military terms. As two analysts who have harshly criticized the Bush administration’s miserable handling of Iraq, we were surprised by the gains we saw and the potential to produce not necessarily “victory” but a sustainable stability that both we and the Iraqis could live with.

Read the rest and make up your own mind. In the end, our presence in Iraq will be seen as a just affair. Whether you agree or disagree is up to you. How you feel about us being there is up to the spin doctors who medicate you. If you are able to sit back and look at the facts and the results in a long term setting, this will work. But the immature concept of immediate withdrawal of our heroic troops would be a death sentence to the people of Iraq. The harpies of cut and run advocate the massacre of innocents with Iraqi blood on their geonicide enabling hands. Some may howl at this statement and say, "What about the innocent civilians George Bush killed?" Rubbish. Al-quesidilla killed them.

Just for grins and giggles, I omitted Iraqi for American in the paragraph below. It describes the kindergarten level dysfunction that is the Iraqi government. Then I pondered, after a couple hundred years, we still don't the great experiment known as democracy perfected. Something to think about as we bicker into the 08 election.

In the end, the situation in America remains grave. In particular, we still face huge hurdles on the political front. American politicians of all stripes continue to dawdle and maneuver for position against one another when major steps towards reconciliation — or at least accommodation — are needed. This cannot continue indefinitely. Otherwise, once we begin to downsize, important communities may not feel committed to the status quo, and American security forces may splinter along ethnic and religious lines.

    It happened once.

Massive props to the Iraqi National Football team for their Asia Cup over their neighbors to the south.

    A Father Speaks Out

I caught this on Real Clear Politics, damn. The article is brutally honest. That kind of brutality that makes people nervous to hear and ashamed to on the wrong side of.
Here are the last few paragraphs, I recommend you read all of it.

Moral relativism and A Mighty Heart. Back to Focus
by Judea Pearl, father of Daniel Pearl

Drawing a comparison between Danny's murder and the detainment of suspects in Guantánamo is precisely what the killers wanted, as expressed in both their e-mails and the murder video. Obviously Winterbottom did not mean to echo their sentiments, and certainly not to justify their demands or actions. Still, I am concerned that aspects of his movie will play into the hands of professional obscurers of moral clarity.

Indeed, following an advance screening of A Mighty Heart, a panelist representing the Council on American-Islamic Relations reportedly said, "We need to end the culture of bombs, torture, occupation, and violence. This is the message to take from the film." The message that angry youngsters are hearing is unfortunate: All forms of violence are equally evil; therefore, as long as one persists, others should not be ruled out. This is precisely the logic used by Mohammed Siddiqui Khan, one of the London suicide bombers, in his videotape on Al Jazeera. "Your democratically elected government," he told his British countrymen, "continues to perpetrate atrocities against my people ... . [W]e will not stop."

Danny's tragedy demands an end to this logic. There can be no comparison between those who take pride in the killing of an unarmed journalist and those who vow to end such acts--no ifs, ands, or buts. Moral relativism died with Daniel Pearl, in Karachi, on January 31, 2002.

There was a time when drawing moral symmetries between two sides of every conflict was a mark of original thinking. Today, with Western intellectuals overextending two-sidedness to reckless absurdities, it reflects nothing but lazy conformity. What is needed now is for intellectuals, filmmakers, and the rest of us to resist this dangerous trend and draw legitimate distinctions where such distinctions are warranted.
Just let the words sink in. Think about what he is saying. These may be the most profound and honest words written during this War on Terror.

    Missed That One

Apparently, SOTH Pelosi has been a infectous mix of a foriegn policy guru and scarf-stylish babe in helping GW with his Presidential duties. C'mon, she is couple heart beats from the Oval Office and she needs to practice meeting with dictators. Plus the sanctimonious charmer has our best interests while breaking the law, pissing off Israel, looking like a dingbat and mostly being herself.
She either met with Assad, who is behind the murder of a certain Lebanese critic that led to beautiful Ceder Spring, to make GW look bad (classy and respectful) or to create her won agenda (illegal). There have been some good points on her behalf ... not really. She screwed the pooch in a bad way. Here is some things she should consider
    from Fred Barnes:
Pelosi's visit to Damascus for talks with Syrian president Bashir Assad showed her ill-equipped to deal with the longstanding conflict between Israel and neighboring Arab states in the Middle East. She made three serious mistakes.
The complicated nature of diplomacy in the Middle East eluded her. She was in
way over her head. She didn't understand what she was dealing with. This was her first big mistake.
Her second mistake was believing the conventional wisdom in Washington that headway could be made with the Syrians if only we'd talk to them.
Pelosi's third (and biggest) mistake was thinking she could broker a peace between Israel and Syria. This was naive in the extreme.

    Robert Turner of WSJ
The Logan Act makes it a felony and provides for a prison sentence of up to three years for any American, "without authority of the United States," to communicate with a foreign government in an effort to influence that government's behavior on any "disputes or controversies with the United States." Some background on this statute helps to understand why Ms. Pelosi may be in serious trouble.

And if USA Today questions you
But Wolf can travel to Syria virtually undetected. Pelosi has an international profile. That guarantees her heavy media coverage but multiplies the price of a misstep, which she quickly made when she created confusion about how eager Israel is to resume peace talks with Syria. Israel immediately clarified her remarks.

Wolf is a Representative who claims to be Republican. Hopefully this other criminal is made fully aware of the Logan Act as he is prosecuted as well as Pelosi. The ethical congress we were promised was a sham the moment Rep. "Gladbag" Jefferson was offered a post.

    Obob's Spring Break

As I wrap up another Spring Break in suburbia, I have created a few awards for this week:
The Neville Chamberlain Award For Diplomacy:

Nancy Pelosi - for visiting Syria. She deserves a swift kick where the sun don't shine for blatantly playing immature politics. The absolute arrogance of disregarding the fact they are playing the entire world as diplomats floors me. The Syrians know they are the bottom of any decent country's shit list and want to stay there. Let Iran screw up, they are playing Pelosi like a fiddle.

The Who Are You Again? Award:

Geraldine Ferraro - she endorses Hillary, and she matters why? Don't give me that feminist line either, she was used like the Democrats use the black voter. Ferraro was a desperate attempt in the futile election of 1984. The unholy electoral ass whopping delivered by Reagan still scares the hell out of Democrats.

The It's Over, She's Dead Award:

To the media for that Anna Nicole person who died some how of an overdose. I feel bad for the baby, but Christ people, is money that important?

The You Are a Superpower, Act Like It Award:

to Great Britain for acting like a class A wimp and allowing their brave men and a women still hostage. The frigate the Brits were on should have introduced the Iranians to Allah very quickly, not been taken hostage and paraded like circus freaks. Frankly, I would be pissed to be a Brit.

The What's Thad-Mata with You? Award:

I like saying his name, Thad Mata.

Finally, the Are You Going to Eat That? Award:

Forbin (my brother) and I for having to call in the cavalry in inhaling 50 wings and three pitchers of beer this week. They were damn good wings.

    Sean Penn for President

This caught my morning eye on Drudge Actor Penn, Rep. Lee appear at town hall meeting on Iraq war and I had to get my chuckles. Some interesting quotes:

Neither Penn nor Rep. Barbara Lee, the Oakland Democrat who has opposed the war since before it began four years ago, offered much in the way of specifics for ending the conflict, and they were largely preaching to the choir. The enthusiastic and occasionally boisterous crowd of 800 ...

Does this shock you. In a typical fashion of selfish individuals, they see no consequence. What redeploy/run? Do they realize we are fighting there so we don't here? I know that is illogical to the anti-war crowd, but a storm is brewing and it was before GW, they have hated us for a awhile.

"You and your smarmy pundits -- and the smarmy pundits you have in your pocket -- can take your war and shove it," Penn said.

OHHHHHHH, you use big words Mr. Penn. What the hell is a smarmy pundit?
smarmy: excessively ingratiating: excessively earnest and ingratiating in manner
pundit: somebody who expresses opinion: a critic or authority on a subject, especially in the media
SO Chris Matthews, Helen Thomas, Lou Dobbs and the other DPOs are not in this category. Hell, they are textbook and more condescending the Hannity or O'reilly. Those at least like ur country and use it for profit and posing.

Penn reiterated a point often made by opponents of the war when he said he supports the troops but opposes the war.
"Let's make this crystal clear: We do support our troops, but not the exploitation of them and their families," he said. ."

No, once again, you cannot have this position. It is an illogical and unacceptable position allowed by the MSM and DPOs. You have to have the courage to make a real stand and not wait to stand aside to the winner. Which leads me to this heinous wench and disgrace of an elected official.
"We can't afford to spend one more dime or lose one more American or Iraqi life on this illegal and unwinnable war," Lee told the crowd,

    Let me repeat her quote:
"We can't afford to spend one more dime or lose one more American or Iraqi life on this illegal and unwinnable war,"

This is the treacherous Lee's District 9 map. If you live in this district, do the right thing and vote out this coward in 08.
Rodney Brown, a 30-year-old Oakland substitute teacher, said he would have liked to see more people attend the protest. While organizers said between 500 and 700 attended the rally, many remarked that the crowd seemed significantly smaller.

This is huge. Could the tide be turning or could the picket lines be more defined. As the ANSWER, Code Pick and the Get Out of Iraq caucus get more and more face time, could the rest of America be tiring of the acts? Could the hate speech that is starting to devour the souls of our troops be taking its affect? Could faith be returning to America? Say tuned buckaroos, this is going to be a wild and bumpy ride.
Here we see Sean Penn covering the election in Iran.(They also had elections in Iraq with Saddam Hussein and in the old CCCP.) And the impressive Mr. Penn personally draining New Orleans on cup of water at a time. My hero!

    Mall Cops on the Move

U.S. To Send 30,000 Mall Security Guards To Iraq
A little known aspect of the troop deployment of the Surge by GW, are the Mall Guards. Even though was missed by the MSM, it was caught by the brilliant journalists at the Onion.com. .
These brave men and women of walkie-talkie will be sent into Iraq to train the Iraqi police in effective crowd control and Orange Julius etiquette. We know the weakness of the Mall Guard, teenagers with baggy pants. Pray they enemy does not find their flaw, Western Civilization may depend on it.
Judging by this guard's misplaced eye, away from the terrorists as opposed to on the perp, he was probably trained by the UN in genocide prevention. The same training was used in Rwanda, Yugoslavia and currently in use in Dafur.

    I'm Done

Well you little bastard, if you have your way, you may get your wish. After I saw this revolting picture at Michelle Malkin's site, I had various emotions: rage, anger, pity, remorse and finally ... cause. I am well aware my posts of late have been light and either humorous or polite. It has been a rather hectic and rough couple months. But I dwell ed on this picture and who I am. It's time to reply.

Looking at this pathetic excuse for an American galvanizes my belief there is no way in hell you can support our troops and be against the war. It is nothing more than a bullshit cope out shown by the remorseful baby boomers who treated the heroic soldiers of Vietnam with putrid protests and insults when they returned home.

This picture comes the University of Toledo, middle America Knowing the cowardly thugs of ANSWER or other anti-American groups, he may not even go there. He may be from a time zone or two over. No matter. Look at him. He wears a mask so mommy and daddy won't cut off his college money. He probably needed to type it out to make sure his handwriting couldn't be traced. And he really has nothing to fear. What, he make get booed. Or called a traitor correctly. As far as I ma concerned, he wants my daughters not get and education, my son to lack freewill and my wife to quit having an opinion. That is what we are fighting. My gay friends, stoned to death. My friends who shave their facial hair, beaten t death. People who speak aganist the theocratic leaders of Islamofacism, beheaded and their wives raped.

Great version of America you ungrateful punk. Game on.

So here it is again, you cannot say you support our troops and are against the war. You cannot have it both ways. Take a side or shut up and stay out of the way.

    bringing back a classic

I read a post at Robert's blog about the media trashing Ann Coulter and not bringing up Bill Maher's wish of a dead VP. If I were gay, not that my boyfriend says I am, I would be pissed beyond recognition if I were put in a group with John Edwards.
Back to my point, here is a funny clip showing Christopher Hitchens flipping off Bill Maher's trained audience. The creator off the clip has some fun with the comparison of Bush and what the heck the Iranian presidente's name is.
