The Grey Lady Confounds the Mighty Obob

VIEWED from Iraq, where we just spent eight days meeting with American and Iraqi military and civilian personnel, the political debate in Washington is surreal. The Bush administration has over four years lost essentially all credibility. Yet now the administration’s critics, in part as a result, seem unaware of the significant changes taking place.
Here is the most important thing Americans need to understand: We are finally getting somewhere in Iraq, at least in military terms. As two analysts who have harshly criticized the Bush administration’s miserable handling of Iraq, we were surprised by the gains we saw and the potential to produce not necessarily “victory” but a sustainable stability that both we and the Iraqis could live with.
Read the rest and make up your own mind. In the end, our presence in Iraq will be seen as a just affair. Whether you agree or disagree is up to you. How you feel about us being there is up to the spin doctors who medicate you. If you are able to sit back and look at the facts and the results in a long term setting, this will work. But the immature concept of immediate withdrawal of our heroic troops would be a death sentence to the people of Iraq. The harpies of cut and run advocate the massacre of innocents with Iraqi blood on their geonicide enabling hands. Some may howl at this statement and say, "What about the innocent civilians George Bush killed?" Rubbish. Al-quesidilla killed them.
Just for grins and giggles, I omitted Iraqi for American in the paragraph below. It describes the kindergarten level dysfunction that is the Iraqi government. Then I pondered, after a couple hundred years, we still don't the great experiment known as democracy perfected. Something to think about as we bicker into the 08 election.
In the end, the situation in America remains grave. In particular, we still face huge hurdles on the political front. American politicians of all stripes continue to dawdle and maneuver for position against one another when major steps towards reconciliation — or at least accommodation — are needed. This cannot continue indefinitely. Otherwise, once we begin to downsize, important communities may not feel committed to the status quo, and American security forces may splinter along ethnic and religious lines.
Massive props to the Iraqi National Football team for their Asia Cup over their neighbors to the south.

Sean Penn for President
Neither Penn nor Rep. Barbara Lee, the Oakland Democrat who has opposed the war since before it began four years ago, offered much in the way of specifics for ending the conflict, and they were largely preaching to the choir. The enthusiastic and occasionally boisterous crowd of 800 ...
Does this shock you. In a typical fashion of selfish individuals, they see no consequence. What redeploy/run? Do they realize we are fighting there so we don't here? I know that is illogical to the anti-war crowd, but a storm is brewing and it was before GW, they have hated us for a awhile.
"You and your smarmy pundits -- and the smarmy pundits you have in your pocket -- can take your war and shove it," Penn said.
OHHHHHHH, you use big words Mr. Penn. What the hell is a smarmy pundit?
smarmy: excessively ingratiating: excessively earnest and ingratiating in manner
pundit: somebody who expresses opinion: a critic or authority on a subject, especially in the media
SO Chris Matthews, Helen Thomas, Lou Dobbs and the other DPOs are not in this category. Hell, they are textbook and more condescending the Hannity or O'reilly. Those at least like ur country and use it for profit and posing.
Penn reiterated a point often made by opponents of the war when he said he supports the troops but opposes the war.
"Let's make this crystal clear: We do support our troops, but not the exploitation of them and their families," he said. ."
No, once again, you cannot have this position. It is an illogical and unacceptable position allowed by the MSM and DPOs. You have to have the courage to make a real stand and not wait to stand aside to the winner. Which leads me to this heinous wench and disgrace of an elected official.
"We can't afford to spend one more dime or lose one more American or Iraqi life on this illegal and unwinnable war," Lee told the crowd,
Let me repeat her quote:
"We can't afford to spend one more dime or lose one more American or Iraqi life on this illegal and unwinnable war,"

This is the treacherous Lee's District 9 map. If you live in this district, do the right thing and vote out this coward in 08.
Rodney Brown, a 30-year-old Oakland substitute teacher, said he would have liked to see more people attend the protest. While organizers said between 500 and 700 attended the rally, many remarked that the crowd seemed significantly smaller.
This is huge. Could the tide be turning or could the picket lines be more defined. As the ANSWER, Code Pick and the Get Out of Iraq caucus get more and more face time, could the rest of America be tiring of the acts? Could the hate speech that is starting to devour the souls of our troops be taking its affect? Could faith be returning to America? Say tuned buckaroos, this is going to be a wild and bumpy ride.
Here we see Sean Penn covering the election in Iran.(They also had elections in Iraq with Saddam Hussein and in the old CCCP.) And the impressive Mr. Penn personally draining New Orleans on cup of water at a time. My hero!

I'm Done

Well you little bastard, if you have your way, you may get your wish. After I saw this revolting picture at Michelle Malkin's site, I had various emotions: rage, anger, pity, remorse and finally ... cause. I am well aware my posts of late have been light and either humorous or polite. It has been a rather hectic and rough couple months. But I dwell ed on this picture and who I am. It's time to reply.
Looking at this pathetic excuse for an American galvanizes my belief there is no way in hell you can support our troops and be against the war. It is nothing more than a bullshit cope out shown by the remorseful baby boomers who treated the heroic soldiers of Vietnam with putrid protests and insults when they returned home.
This picture comes the University of Toledo, middle America Knowing the cowardly thugs of ANSWER or other anti-American groups, he may not even go there. He may be from a time zone or two over. No matter. Look at him. He wears a mask so mommy and daddy won't cut off his college money. He probably needed to type it out to make sure his handwriting couldn't be traced. And he really has nothing to fear. What, he make get booed. Or called a traitor correctly. As far as I ma concerned, he wants my daughters not get and education, my son to lack freewill and my wife to quit having an opinion. That is what we are fighting. My gay friends, stoned to death. My friends who shave their facial hair, beaten t death. People who speak aganist the theocratic leaders of Islamofacism, beheaded and their wives raped.
Great version of America you ungrateful punk. Game on.
So here it is again, you cannot say you support our troops and are against the war. You cannot have it both ways. Take a side or shut up and stay out of the way.

What the Sam Hill?
Murtha Seeks To Prohibit Military Action Against Iran
WASHINGTON — A leading Iraq war opponent threatened yesterday to try prohibiting any American military action against Iran without congressional sanction as House Republicans used military veterans within their ranks to oppose a resolution renouncing President Bush's Iraq troop buildup.
Those evil Republicans using vets, as opposed to the heroic vets on the Democrat side of the aisle who are for the wise non-binding resolution and not misguided or brainwashed.

Second

I have a hard time looking at Obama as legitmate leader of our country if he insults our troops who are braver than he can imagine. He is the face of the Democratic party, he is an ass!
Third

Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn
From 1945 to 1953 he was imprisoned for writing a letter in which he criticized Joseph Stalin - "the man with the mustache." Solzhenitsyn served in the camps and prisons near Moskow, and in a camp in Ekibastuz, Kazakhstan (1945-53).
more
Publication of the first volume of The Gulag Archipelago (1973), one of the greatest works in Russian prose, resulted in his being charged with treason. Expelled from the Soviet Union in 1974,
or what about the Cubans who are so beloved by the Left and the Media of this country:
HAVANA - Veteran dissident attorney Rene Gomez Manzano, who helped organize an unprecedented gathering of opponents of the Cuban government two years ago, was unexpectedly released from prison after being held for 19 months without being charged. It goes again and again, the Left really has no clue how safe and coddled they are. Protected by a media with thier agenda in mind, they can fire salvo after salvo with no recourse. Unless you count the money lost by the screeching dixie harpies.
And in an immature stunt, this really bad angle of Speaker of the House Pelosi

Thoughts of the New Year

I think the comic is dead on and I hope he shares a room with ahytollah khomeni

Do you think this guy has any skeletons? The trouble is he sounds like a Republican at times and has the privilege of hands on work with the mighty Senator Lugar. He could be a tough one, but he may have peaked early and the right leaning media sharks have yet to smell blood.

What I get out of this cartoon is Sadaam provided stability in Iraq through his regime. So let me get this straight, through tyranny and terror can you keep ethnic groups under control. So MarshallTito was in the right in Yugoslavia and hitler had every right to keep those pesky French andJews under his thumb. So much for the liberal belief that mankind deseves free will and right to protest. This is as hypocritical as the feminists attacking Monica Lewinsky after she was the victim of a sexual predator ...

Yep and we are going after them in time my friends, just realize foreign policy is not only like the Pottery Barn but it isn't a McDonald's drive thru, more slow cooking rib joint. mmmm ribs ...

The Real Record on Transformation
Times editorial gets it wrongThe fact this was a huge criticism of many that Rummy was making the military designed for welterweight bouts not the traditional heaveyweights we became accustomed to. Keep the faith.
Nov. 9, 2006 — The Pentagon has again requested a correction for a New York Times editorial. On November 8th, the New York Times wrote that “Truly transforming the military would have meant trading in expensive cold war weaponry, like attack submarines and stealth fighters, for pilotless drones, swifter ships and lighter, more mobile ground forces. Mr. Rumsfeld never had the interest—or the political will—to take on that fight.”Secretary Rumsfeld has in fact worked hard to do precisely what the Times accuses him of not doing, in order to transform the military to address the threats of the 21st century. This transformation has included, among many other things: the massive increase of unmanned aerial vehicles—there were 132 in 2001, as compared to over 3,400 today; the design and development of the Littoral Combat Ship (LCS)—part of a new class of warship designed for speed (up to 40 knots) and inland operations in shallow water; and the shift from a division-based to a brigade-based Army—which has created autonomous units that are more agile, lethal, and deployable on shorter notice. Special Operations forces have received significant increases in manpower, funding, and responsibilities. As the letter notes: “Editorial pages are obviously forums for opinions. But those opinions should be based on facts. In this instance, your editorial is factually incorrect, and I believe you owe it to the public to be honest about the facts and correct the record.”

Kissinger Doing the Weather

Back in the early 90s, I awoke with a wicked hang over one morning. As I sat on the floor watching the morning news, I swore I saw Harold Kissinger doing the weather. No one believed me. Professors discounted me. I have been vindicated.
