they are a violent batch with a nasty disposition. Almost as scary as though students so correctly put down in 1989. Shocking concept freedom of speech, religion or any other basic rights.
That's an intense picture. I haven't followed the demonstrations all that closely - I've been blogging the campaign - but China's not coming out very good on all of this.
eff the Chinese......I'm going to Hong Kong tomorrow afternoon, thinking about buying a "free Tibet" shirt and wearing it......well on 2nd thought, let me re-think that one.
When I first saw this posting, I was trying to figure out which country was this happening. Brutality is such a common horror in today's world that it took me a minute or two to realize that this is the Chinese brutalizing the Tibetans.
Back in the early 90s, I awoke with a wicked hang over one morning. As I sat on the floor watching the morning news, I swore I saw Harold Kissinger doing the weather. No one believed me. Professors discounted me. I have been vindicated.
It is the soldier, not the priest, who protects freedom of religion; the soldier, not the journalist, who protects freedom of speech. History teaches that a society that does not value its warriors will be destroyed by a society that does. - Jack Kelly
