So what is more valued, the lives of our troops or our enemies? If you had to use a nuke, would take out the enemy and save thousands of American lives or try to look noble for history books? Fortunately for our troops of our Greatest Generation, Obama was not in charge in August of 1945. Praise Allah the current anti-American management of the NYT was not in place either, they would have blabbed about the Manhattan Project.
But we did bomb the holy crap out of Hiroshima and Nagasaki 62 years ago. Thousands of Japanese citizens who were programmed to hate any other race were killed. Yes, racism was a policy in Japan before and during WWII. Read the Rape of Nanking and you will see what evil really is. Not our government, but a society that celebrated two Japanese officers who had a contest similiar to the McGuire/Sosa home run race, except they used human heads.

Judge us as you may, but remember the crimes of the Japanese military fostered by Japanese society were beyond humane.
Japanese at Hiroshima, 140,000, and Nagasaki, 74,000.
Chinese in Nanking: 300,000
If you ever get a chance, read the Rape of Nanking. It is not for weak of heart. In fact, I keep it tucked away so my own children do not see the pictures. It honestly altered my life when I read the book and the website reminded what evil is.

Like the idiot lefties who compare Bush to Hitler, to compare the Japanese to Islamic terrorists just shows how little people know about the situation, the people, or seeing through propaganda.
The people of Iraq, Iran, and Afghanistan aren't even close to the kind of evil that everyday Japanese showed and practiced.
The more we try to tell these people how to live, or what their morals should be, the more they resent us.
We should have left after getting rid of Saddam, and let the people fight for what kind of country they wanted.

Bad leaders, or a group of fanatic killers are dangerous and must be dealt with, but a country full of people with evil intent are a much bigger danger and a whole different problem.
The Japanese were not just a people misled by their leaders.

The concept of vowing never to use nukes is pretty reassuring for those of us who don't have aspirations for Chernobyl Heart. I applaud Obama for his peaceful stance.

Laurie, you are a little on the naive side. Japan was not ready to surrender. They are a prideful people and was not willing to surrender until they were convinced all was lost. This would only be brought about, according to the military minds of the day, by an invasion of Tokyo. This invasion, however, was not an option we desired because of the potential loss of life on both sides. So, to shorten the war, and in hopes of averting an invasion of Tokyo, we dropped the bombs. In the end, less lives were lost, and the war in the Pacific was shortened. You, had you lived in those days, as you are today, would have fallen for Tokyo Rose's propaganda which seems eerily similar to the propaganda from the left. Here was her three main points that were designed to break the moral of our troops: 1) The war is illegal 2) you can't win the war 3) your president lied to you. Sound familiar? And you have fallen for it hook, line and sinker.

Strange. I find it absurd that there can be a such thing as "right people" dropping "a nuke or two." We may all call ourselves Christian on this forum, but clearly, not all of us are right.
