That Pesky First

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Ever heard of the memory hole? It's where all information Big Brother wanted to eliminate was sent to be forgotten about.
Can it happen today?
Corporate liberals have done their share in shutting down anti-liberal speech, too. "Saturday Night Live" ran a spoof of the financial crisis that skewered Democrats like House Financial Services Chairman Barney Frank and liberal contributors Herbert and Marion Sandler, who sold toxic-waste-filled Golden West to Wachovia Bank for $24 billion. Kind of surprising, but not for long. The tape of the broadcast disappeared from NBC's Website and was replaced with another that omitted the references to Frank and the Sandlers. Evidently NBC and its parent, General Electric, don't want people to hear speech that attacks liberals.

I saw the skit and laughed loudly. Far louder then the left leaning audience at SNL that night. Should I be surprised it was taken out?
Remember the movie on 9-11? The Path to 9/11. Democrats tried earnestly to get part of the movie edited not to incriminate Clinton's failure on taking out bin Laden.
Remember in Missouri when the Democrats tried to proscute anyone who created a political ad they felt was a wrong?
Remember the assault via phone and e-mail on Kurtz on WGN in Chicago?
Remember these events, they may be a treacherous precursor to what we will out live in a Obama administration with control of the House and Senate.
Other clear violations of the 1st to be concerned about in the near future:
1. The Fairness Doctrine
2. The elimination of secret ballots in union elections. And we know who endorses Obama.
For a constitutional prof, he has a skewed view of it.

He said today he wants a Supreme Court with less "attitude". The truth is, I don't think that he can do much to the SCOTUS in four years (his shelf life). Barring an unexpected death, the conservatives are young enough to hold on. As far as the Fairness Doctrine, I don't think that would make it past todays SCOTUS. The last time it was around, the SCOTUS was considerably more liberal. It's clearly unconstitutional. He is a scary dude though.

The SNL skit was great. The Libs cannot risk having the truth get out there to the common people.

I've noticed that liberals are usually far more likely to try to crush those they disagree with.

Which begs the question: Do you think the ACLU would come to the defense of conservative talk radio if the Fairness Doctrine is imminent?

Free speech isn't a one-way street, despite the best efforts of Dems to make it so.

We just have to be sure not to ever let them.

Granted this is an incident that shows Big Brother has to much input, but it is only a TV show !

It's not the private conversations of our military men, or John/Jane Doe.(as revealed last week - the administration has been listening in on)

It's a losing battle to go tit for tat on these kinds of incidents when the Republicans have also been found to have abused so many.

It's like the little boy that cried wolf - nobody is listening (even though he may be right this time) because the boy has lied to many times already.

None of this matters, McCain will lose this election not because of political ideology, but because of his (and his supporters) behavior in this election.

All this talk about Obama being a terrorist, or an evil Arab is stupid, and the American people are going to rightfully reject it.

I've decided to vote for Obama. I am not a Democratic hack. I just can't believe how dumb McCain has been about running his election. I voted for McCain against Bush and wish McCain had been President.

McCain's selection of Palin shows me he really does not care about the future of our country, just winning the Presidency.

I go to college in California (CSUS)and if you want to find people that don't like dissent then look no further than one of the liberal professors, or the multitude of radical groups on campus.

And I thought left wing conspiracy theorists were off the deep end. You know, more people affiliated with GE give political contributions to Republicans than they do Democrats.

Kissinger Doing the Weather

Kissinger Doing the Weather
Back in the early 90s, I awoke with a wicked hang over one morning. As I sat on the floor watching the morning news, I swore I saw Harold Kissinger doing the weather. No one believed me. Professors discounted me. I have been vindicated.
