Activists: 9 Iranians Convicted of Adultery Set to Be Stoned to Death
TEHRAN, Iran — Eight women and one man convicted of adultery are set to be stoned to death in Iran, activists said Sunday.

Six of the nine were convicted based solely on judges' decisions with no witnesses or the presence of their lawyers during their confessions, she said. Most of the nine come from areas of Iran that have low rates of literacy and some did not understand the cases against them, she said. The punishment is also applied in some other countries such as Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Sudan and Nigeria. A man is usually buried up to his waist, while a woman is buried up to her neck. Those carrying out the verdict then throw stones until the condemned dies. In the recent years, reformist legislators demanded an end to death by stoning as a punishment for adultery, but opposition from hard-line clerics sidelined their efforts.
I am a supporter of capital punishment. But the public execution of anyone on charges of adultery are criminal. Yet, where are the American feminists? Where are they when women are oppressed by these Muslim clerics and the law of the Quran they impose to suppress women's rights? As usual, the silence is deafening. They would rather have the president of an Ivy League University tared and feathered for asking intellectual questions, then defend women who are forced in a subservient life.
Where are the American feminists in regards to the "Honor Killings" that are starting to infest our borders? Silent again
Pathetic and weak is the feminist movement in our country as they try to look tough with Code Pink and enjoying the freedom to attack our Marines in Berkley or Condi Rice in the halls of the Capitol with "blood" soaked hands.
Basically, grow a pair.
And as for the people who think we should negotiate with Ahmjahad straight up, do you really think he is in charge? He is a mere and temporary puppet of the clerics and mullahs who run Iran.
Finally, how many of us would have been buried up to our necks or waists?
I know and love to many intelligent and strong willed women who would have been executed.

We as a country are just as repsonsible. We have got to stop pretending we have allies in the Middle East. We have to stop buying their oil, we are supporting them. We need to cut them off completely and not deal with them until they are ready to show they can be civilized.

The feminists of today basically only care about wanting abortions available to every woman and girl with no restrictions, they don't have the time for these sort of women issues!

Of course their actions and sins are allowed because their demented view on Islam or any loving god their can conjure. The arranged marriages, pedophilia or honor killings are not views taught by any faith that believes in a loving god.

Wow, great post! You are 100% right. They are too busy with petty issues to worry about something that is as important as this. It's hard to imagine this cruelty and even worse that no one speaks against it!
