See, it was a misunderstanding

Don't be afraid Linus. Although your safety blanket couldn't save you from the sensitive open-minded nutjobs that influence Islam.

There was a ho-um piece on the WashPost and other cowardly papers that refused to show the Opus cartoon involving Islam and its treatment of women. In searching for replies from Muslims, the writer got this:

Ibrahim Hooper, spokesman for the Council on American-Islamic Relations, a civil rights and advocacy group, wasn't offended. " 'Opus' poked fun at the strip's characters, not Muslims or Islam. I see hundreds worse on the Internet every day," he said.

ehh

Akbar Ahmed, chair of Islamic studies at American University, also wasn't offended. He said there is a strong Muslim tradition of satire and self-deprecation. "I think there is a danger of us becoming so politically correct that we end up by blunting the critics' bent and the satirists' wit. Muslims need to be sensitive to the fact that in Western culture there is a healthy tradition of not taking things too seriously."

excuse me? What part of the threats against all who mock Mohammad the Prophet did we not get? Or anyone who exposes the mistreatment of women in their faith? Gunman kills Dutch film director

Van Gogh directed TV series and wrote newspaper columns
Dutch film maker Theo van Gogh, who made a controversial film about Islamic culture, has been stabbed and shot dead in Amsterdam, Dutch police say.
Police arrested a man in a nearby park after an exchange of gunfire. The man, aged 26, had joint Dutch and Moroccan nationality, they said.
Van Gogh, 47, had received death threats after his film Submission was shown on Dutch TV.
It portrayed violence against women in Islamic societies.

Please excuse the picture of his dead body, but this is their reply to satire and critique from warm and fuzzy hardliners.
Or how about Denmark and the courage it had to show the cartoons. Of course these cartoons were not shown in the States. The brave editors of our papers didn't have the tin foil testicles to show them. Obob's personal favorite:

Interesting that a photo of slain Theo Van Gogh cannot be published, but an Islamo-anarchist in a kafiyyeh can--as far as distribution by the msm goes.

What's with all these Western newspapers wimping out, anyway?

once again, I didn't want to go sensationalist, but this is huge. Our media does have the intestinal fortitude to take on this enemy.

Dear Obob, I found you (if you are the same one I was looking for)! I have moved from my other sites to Rosemary's Thoughts(.com).

I agree that if we had press on our side, this would be a totally different war. That is what makes it so sad and aggrivating. We just need to pray continually, support our troops with care packages, and stay on Congress' back so hard that they will have to do what is right and just.

This is nuts that in a time of war, Ahmadinejad is given a visa...doesn't that say more about what this country is willing to give up of itself without a care in the world about the citizenry? Argghhh.

May God bless your family and you, and may He watch over you always.

Kissinger Doing the Weather

Kissinger Doing the Weather
Back in the early 90s, I awoke with a wicked hang over one morning. As I sat on the floor watching the morning news, I swore I saw Harold Kissinger doing the weather. No one believed me. Professors discounted me. I have been vindicated.
