Obob Loves the Ladies
Now that the suggestive title got your attention, it isn't as sexual as you think. Our Women's national squad has defeated Sweden two - nil in an attempt to get out of the Group of Death they dwell in. After the shocking tie to North Korean team, our girls have to beat Nigeria next week to move on.
Here is FIFA's site, US Soccer's & ESPN's
Both goals were from the 5'11" striker Abby Wambach. Lady Wambach was temporarily out the last match versus North Korea with a head wound after her head and North Korea's split the back of her skull open. She returned that match on Tuesday. Wambach scored in the 34th (pk)and 58th minutes on Sweden
Don't get me wrong, this is a very balanced and lethal team, from the vetern Kristin Lilly to goal scorer Aly Wagner to the streaker Brianna Scurry (not in speed, but in nothing but a gold medal wearing form).

It seems to me that not many people here in the US follow soccer, let alone women's soccer. Have you always liked soccer?
I've played since a child. I've been called a commie in high school. At the bar my brother and I are abused on a regular basis for being able to describe offsides with salt and pepper shakers while rattling off national team members.
I still play on sundays with my sister, brother and dad in a rec league. But no where near the passion you find in South America
