Thanks GW

I enjoyed listening to GW's farewell press conference today. And in reflecting a bar rail conversation Friday night, keep us safe obama. You bought the job, now do it.
But GW will not go down as our greatest, nor our worst. But he is a good man.
And if you look at the before and after pictures, this is what the job does to you. Read those morning threat assessments and know pelosi is a couple heart beats from the job. It would do it to me.

He'll be one of our "near" great presidents, which is the term of Arthur Schlesinger, Jr., and his presidential rankings. Folks see Harry Truman as a top-ten president, but he too left office at historic lows in public opinion.

It's interesting/revealing that you think this President has done such a great job and left the country in such good condition.

With leaders like Bush, we don't need enemies to destroy our financial system (Osama's goal).

This country is worse off now, than when FDR took office, but of course, you guys don't think Bush is responsible for any of this mess.

From his military mistakes, financial mess, high unemployment, etc., etc.... His low grade MBA didn't help his baseball team, or our country.

But what's really scary, is that he (and you) think everything is OK. He's a great President? The country is doing fine after 8 years of his leadership.

What is your idea of BAD conditions?

You delusion is as deep as President Bush's.

We will not survive if these are the best expectations we can get from a President.

Obama may turn out to be a bad President, but not compared to Bush.

This is the worst President we have had since I've been alive, and I was alive when Truman was in office.

Even the crook Nixon didn't leave office with the country in such bad shape.

douglas - the Truman comparisons are coming
time - give your namesake. don't worry about obama, the NYT has already started making excuses.

Don't deny the facts, as President bush does. Then maybe a decent debate of what he has done, can be taken on. Time won't change the facts, only put them in context. We don't need time to see the context of some decisions, and some decisions have already had the context illuminated.

Good post Obob

Time, reread your original post after your call for "decent debate" (snorting sound)

Quite a job, to do that to a person.

one fact to know about time, to disagree on gw's policies is fine, but time admonished those who played the hitler card. thus my respect. I respect the rest of you due to my evil alliances. word up!

I cringe at people who rely on short term history. We will not know the effects of W's policies until years in the future. Until then, we haven't been attacked since 9/11. I believe that was due to the measures taken by the administration that were so much maligned. However, we won't know for sure until the history is written. Like him or not, that's a tough act to follow.

The photos clearly show the effects of the burden of the office of POTUS. No President has ever escaped that accelerated-aging process.

GW will not go down as our greatest, nor our worst.

I agree. Of course, the leftists keep going on and on about how GWB's administration will be viewed as the worst ever. Pfffft!

Kissinger Doing the Weather
Back in the early 90s, I awoke with a wicked hang over one morning. As I sat on the floor watching the morning news, I swore I saw Harold Kissinger doing the weather. No one believed me. Professors discounted me. I have been vindicated.
