And this comes as a shock to whom?

Found this great article exposing the Democrats in the House and Senate as opportunistic political vultures hedging their bets on re-election on the anti war movement's self-destructive faith in them. The foolish peaceniks thought the Dems cared. Silly hippies, these guys used y'all like the black vote since the Civil Rights Act of 1964:

... much of what has passed for peace activism in the past year was little more than a thinly veiled scheme to use popular discontent over the war to unseat vulnerable Republicans up for re-election in 2008. David Sirota, a former congressional staffer whose new book, The Uprising, excoriates the Democrats for their failure to end the war, expresses disgust at the strategy of targeting only Republicans. "The whole idea is based on this insane fiction that there is no such thing as a pro-war Democrat," he says. "Their strategy allows Democrats to take credit for being against the war without doing anything to stop it. It's crazy."

I just wanted to point out to our followers of the Church of the Lying Ass that Hillary and Obama are not for "change" of politics, just a change of letterhead. At least the GOP is honest about its views on the war except a few Rhinos.

I love the tragic and naive frustration of the writer as he whines with profane wit (note sarcasm):

How much of this bullshit are we going to take? How long are we supposed to give the Reids and Pelosis and Hillarys of the world credit for wanting, deep down in their moldy hearts, to do the right thing?

Look, fuck your hearts, OK? Just get it done. Because if you don't, sooner or later this con is going to run dry. It may not be in '08, but it'll be soon. Even Americans can't be fooled forever.

Until you prove other, you will be young man. By the way, this was from Rolling Stone, not The Economist.

Guess Nancy read the Rolling Stone article and feared losing her integrity. So she spoke with raw courage:

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said twice Sunday that Iraq “is a failure,” adding that President Bush’s troop surge has “not produced the desired effect.”

“The purpose of the surge was to create a secure time for the government of Iraq to make the political change to bring reconciliation to Iraq,” Pelosi said on CNN’s “Late Edition.” “They have not done that.”

The speaker hastened to add: “The troops have succeeded, God bless them.”

Coward. No other word describes her. So the troops have succeded but the mission is a failure? Her logic is numbing. And if she says God bless them it gives her street cred? She is the Congressional Gangsta!

Democrats have historically followed social movements, not led them. If we want the Democrats to do more on the war, we need to get more people to do more to oppose the war at the grassroots level.

libhom: thank you for visit. The anti war crowd has tried from the grassroots of the Internet & college campuses to Hollywood to Vermont to Crawford. Code Pink has gone into stalker hyperdrive in attacking the Capital. But the Democrats leadership lacks the backbone to really push it. They know in teh end they will suffer the same fate as the Federalists after the War of 1812.
woman: as always thank you for stopping by. I am glad I got a witness. I would love to see her leading the minority in 09, but I want to really see how tough she is. We're not

I agree completely. The Democratic party is noting more than a finger in the air, seeing which way the wind blows.

I find a bit of Irony in that most of the wars that the US has entered in the past century were done under Democrat administrations. Nobody mentions WW1 (Woodrow Wilson), WW2 (FDR), Korean (Harry Truman got us in it, Eisenhower got us out) Vietnam and the Bay of Pigs debacle (JFK got us in, Nixon got us out),.... And let's not forget Clinton bombed the Serbs back to the stone age. Sure Reagan had a few jaunts with Lybia and Grenada (was that even a conflict?), and Bush 41 has to oust Pineapple-face from Panama (please that was not a war...) but in balance,.. why are Republicans considered the war mongers? Besides Bush 43, there is no other Republican President in history that has stepped in belicose shit more than Democrats.

And this from a non-foreign interventionist Libertarian...

Oh Piss On Pelosi.

Instead of running around to Terrorist Countries and trying to appease them she should be looking at what's at stake in America if her plan doesnt work.

Which it wont, when will the Dwemocrats ever learn you dont bargain with terrorists and it makes America look weak to have these idiots out there pretending to be on our behalf!

The Democrat party does NOT speak for me!

We once again need to raise our voices high and say NO to Pelosi and her cohorts in Congress!!

Kissinger Doing the Weather

Kissinger Doing the Weather
Back in the early 90s, I awoke with a wicked hang over one morning. As I sat on the floor watching the morning news, I swore I saw Harold Kissinger doing the weather. No one believed me. Professors discounted me. I have been vindicated.
