The Second Day of July 1776, will be the most memorable Epocha, in the History of America. I am apt to believe that it will be celebrated, by succeeding Generations, as the great anniversary Festival. It ought to be commemorated, as the Day of Deliverance by solemn Acts of Devotion to God Almighty. It ought to be solemnized with Pomp and Parade, with Shews, Games, Sports, Guns, Bells, Bonfires and Illuminations from one End of this Continent to the other from this Time forward forever more. You will think me transported with Enthusiasm but I am not. I am well aware of the Toil and Blood and Treasure, that it will cost Us to maintain this Declaration, and support and defend these States. Yet through all the Gloom I can see the Rays of ravishing Light and Glory. I can see that the End is more than worth all the Means. And that Posterity will tryumph in that Days Transaction, even altho We should rue it, which I trust in God We shall not.

A funny little note,
Independence Day Should Have Been July 2 –July 2, 1776 is the day that the Continental Congress actually voted for independence. John Adams, in his writings, even noted that July 2 would be remembered in the annals of American history and would be marked with fireworks and celebrations. The written Declaration of Independence was dated July 4 but wasn't actually signed until August 2. Fifty-six delegates eventually signed the document, although all were not present on that day in August.
Thus I have today as a holiday on my PDA. Another shining example of my dead sexiness my wife adores.

Smart is sexy, Obob! ;D
I gotta sling beers tonight for general public. So' I'll hoist a few in your names after the shift
by the way, it could be aquick night. Some jackass took out a water main by the bar and we have no drinking water, includes the soda gun, and can;t serve food. The same thing happened last week at the same sight. Friggin' idiots, now it will cost me money.
You're right.
July 2 is often ignored.
So, you're water main has been taken out? I haven't had that problem--recently--but a few days back, the power line was ripped from the side of my house. Again! This time, the power company raised the line. About time, too. Any tall truck was a threat to that low-hanging line.
At least, this time my electronics devices didn't get fried with a surge as happened a few months back.
