I have bartended off and on for almost 15 years. The bar where I have worked is a neighborhood-type establishment, hence the link title. And my favorite day of the year is and will always be St. Patrick's. It isn't about the money, nice haul though, it's the crowd. Yes it made up of people who are amatuers, but the pros can be jackasses as well.
We have a guy whom has play piano at the bar every year since I started there. Every year people from the neighborhood sing and drink till they grin green. And every year Jim and I look at each other and declare, "This is our last year." We've said that 14 times. Great man is Jim.
So as I am pouring Guiness (Two pull back and one foward) and gallons of green beer, I will empty the Irish whiskey stock:
Buschmills is Protestant
Jameson in Catholic
Tullamore 12 year is like water it so smooth. My mother-in-law won't carry it because my brother and I drink it all and the customers get none.
The purpose of the post is not a brief history of Obob bartending, that is journey of Homeric porportions. Just a reminder to have fun and remember you are not the only one in the bar.
Note: the gent on the left will be the guy I am calling a cab for at closing time. The guy on the right is the the better part of America Sunday. Lovely sods.

happy st. paddy's day to you, obob!
O Bob,
Just stopping by to wish you a Happy St. Paddy's Day.
As you know, I'll be in D.C., with A Gathering of Eagles for much of today. Maybe we'll still have energy enough to celebrate St. Paddy's tonight.
If I mixed the Blue with the green, would I get aqua beer? No, that's what I'll find on the wall of the stalls at closing tonight, my favorite
