I am starting to like this kid Matthew Tully of the IndyStar. He is almost there in terms being a good op-ed writer. Of course that has two criteria for me, I agree with you and you have the guavas to say something controversial that could get your ass kicked/fired.
This piece from Sunday's paper tells it like it is:
They are an embarrassment to the city of Indianapolis.
Time after time, they humiliate both themselves and, by association, the city. With their arrogance and conduct, it's clear they don't respect the wonderful jobs they have.
Can't we just say goodbye to these do-nothings? Can't we finally replace them with people who are fresh and at least mildly modest? Can't we give their jobs to people who will make us a teensy bit proud?
No, I'm not talking about the Indiana Pacers. I'm talking about our disastrous and dysfunctional congressional duo from Indianapolis.
He justifiably attacks Burton (R) of the 5th and Carson(D) of the 7th.
One is a pompous brown-eye:
We'll start with Burton. The Indianapolis Republican added to his long and embarrassing record when he once again skipped a big batch of House votes in January to go golfing in Palm Springs, Calif.
As Burton hung out in California, his colleagues on Capitol Hill voted on tax and higher education issues. He didn't care. He had a tee time.
To say this is the most arrogant thing Burton has done this year is saying something. After all, in early January he was the only House member to vote against lobbying reform.
Burton's reply:
WASHINGTON - Rep. Dan Burton said Monday that he didn't want to pull out of a January golf tournament even after he learned more than a month before the tournament that the U.S. House would be in session that week.
"I'd just say to my constituents that that was one of my mistakes that I've made that I shouldn't have made and I apologize for it," Burton said during an appearance on a conservative radio talk show in Indianapolis.
"I won't defend what happened. ... But you show me any person that hasn't had a mistake or hasn't missed work once or twice because of something where they shouldn't have and I'll show you a perfect person, which I haven't met," he said.
What an ass-bag. If I did this, I would be canned and he needs to be. He called Clinton a "scumbag" and never recanted, I do not want someone like this to represent me in DC. I am embarrassed. He sounds like a Democrat, which leads me to her majesty Julia Carson.
The Indianapolis Democrat had made a spectacle of herself in recent months, from incoherent TV appearances to a mean-spirited victory speech after her Nov. 7 re-election.
Last week, she decided to rain on the city's Colts parade. She did so as the House discussed a resolution honoring the Super Bowl champions.
"I come today to congratulate the Indianapolis Colts," she said on the House floor.
It wasn't a bad start. But, sadly, Carson kept talking.
"See," she said, "we have good things in my district. They are not all drive-by shootings."
Yes, Carson stood up in the House and trashed her own city. Her supporters will say, "That's just Julia being Julia." But it's more than that; it's the sad case of a politician losing her ability to control what she says.
Had this been a white politician, especially a Republican, the race card would have been faster then Joe Biden taking himself out of the 08 race. But Carson is very sick and the desperate and morally corrupt Democrats are afraid of losing this seat. So they will continue to stand her up every two years and send her home to miss votes because she is in poor health. So much for respecting either the black vote or someones health for their political gain.
I know this pertains central Indiana, but I bet you have someone like this in your state or representing you in DC.

Be thankful you don't have gasbag Jim Webb in Indiana.
Seeing you haven't got any good cards in Indiana, I can't trade with you, LOL.
Be thankful, too, that you don't have Dennis Kusinich from Ohio.
This nation's electorate could use some serious housecleaning!
Oh PLEASE.... your people are Founding Fathers compared to my representatives from California,.... I don't even want to go there...
looks like we all have pretty bad representation...I'm not too thrilled with mine either.
tells you something
This is what you can expect in the first six months after an election. They know they have enough time before the next election to repair most damage. If this had been a campaign year, no way would have Burton made his tee time.
